Thunder Strike – I’m Going to Buckhead’s

I think I’ve done Thunder about every which way you can — with one exception.

I’ve been to the Great Lawn, to the Science Center party, to a private party in the National City Tower, the mighty Vernon bowling alley, to the Galt House, my friends’ houses and right down on the River. But no, I haven’t tried it over there on the sunny side, so that’s where I’m going Saturday.

BuckheadBeerThunderTake it from the owner of Buckhead’s, Wes Johnson, who’s been doing this for nearly two decades. “If you love Thunder, there is simply no better place to experience it than Buckhead and Rocky’s in Jeffersonville!  We have the best front-row seat available, and we provide our guests with the very best in food and service.  No matter what you are looking for – exclusive access to your own private table, a craft beer festival, live music, or a venue to entertain your company’s customers and staff – Thunder over Buckhead and Rocky’s is the place to be.”

  1. It is, as Johnson says, THE best place to watch both the airshow and the fireworks. The riverbank juts into the Ohio for the best view of the planes, and there’s nothing on the river front to block your camera view of the fireworks. The setting is riff-raff free and the beer selection is amazing. Plenty of seats, clean johns, solid grub … you’ll love it, Rick!
