The most recent addition to Louisville Metro Council, David Yates, brings fresh energy into District 25 . As a life-long resident of the area, Councilman Yates knows the turf and traditions of the Auburndale, Pleasure Ridge Park, Parkridge, Prarie Village, Valley Station and Waverly Hills neighborhoods.
David has been a volunteer coordinator of Financial Peace University and a mentor for the National Guard’s Kentucky Bluegrass Challenge Academy.
Late breaking business news includes a Metro Council-approved budget that moves the Southwest Regional Library in Valley Station project forward. The New Cut Trolley Hop and Southwest Farmer’s Market are in progress.

Every other week here in TGIF land. I highlight Metro Council members and their districts. Today, David Yates steps up to the plate for 25 and some neighboring foodie territory.
This week’s suggestions for lunch are the savory, thin crust pies at Bonnie & Clyde’s Pizza Parlor, the down home style cookin’ at Jessie’s Family Restaurant and to top off the meal before heading back to the salt mine, a cool stop at the historic Valley Dairy Freeze.
The councilman also recommends favorite venues of his constituents who share the wealth with bordering communities: Mike Linnig’s where Cane Run Road meets the Ohio River, Frontier Diner and Christi’s Café on Dixie Highway, Tuscany Italian Restaurant, on Outer Loop Shack in the Back BBQ in Fairdale.
The Louisville Metro covers a lot of ground so get out there and try something that’s new to you! Your suggestions for dining establishments and new local, independent business are welcome here.
