With only five returning starters returning, there were plenty of concerns about the youth and depth on that side of the ball. However, with the season opener just 10 days away versus Alabama, the Cardinals are more comfortable on defense, and are closing in on its rotation, especially at the linebacker position, where a number of new faces will be counted on to build depth….

Story and photos from GoCards.com… LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville senior wide receiver Jaylen Smith has been named on the 2018 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Preseason Football Team by a panel of 148 voters at last week’s ACC Football Kickoff, the league announced on Tuesday. Three-time defending conference champion Clemson led all schools with eight selections, while Boston College sophomore running back AJ Dillon received the nod as the ACC Preseason Player of the Year. Mayor Fischer announces assistance for those in LouisvilleKY needing flood cleanup

Photos from Mayor Fischer’s Facebook Page… Louisville, KY., – Louisville residents who need assistance cleaning up from the past week’s flooding can call Metro Government’s MetroCall 311 to get connected with volunteers who are helping with recovery efforts. Louisville Metro Emergency Services and the Office of Resiliency and Community Services are working with Kentucky Emergency Management, the Salvation Army, the American Red Cross and Metro United Way to identify flood victims and organize volunteer cleanup teams.
