LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Ray Spalding, a junior forward for the University of Louisville last season, has been selected by the Philadelphia 76ers in the second round of the 2018 NBA Draft with the 56th pick overall.  He was subsequently traded to the Dallas Mavericks. LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Three University of Louisville men’s basketball players have earned ACC postseason honors.  Junior forwards Deng Adel and Ray Spalding have been selected as honorable mention All-ACC selections while senior center Anas Mahmoud was named to the ACC All-Defensive team. Adel has been the Cardinals’ scoring leader in 13 games, including most recently leading UofL with 20 points and seven rebounds at NC State last Saturday.  A 6-5 forward from Melbourne, Australia, he has averaged 15.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.4 assists over the last five games after missing two games with an ankle injury.  Adel, who is…

Cupcakes Continue for Louisville with 85-41 Win at Yum! Center

Win number 4 for the Louisville Cardinals, over outmanned St. Francis Brooklyn, was an 85-41 pummeling at the Yum! Center. The Cards’ leading scorer was Damion Lee with 25 points. Chinanu Onuaku, gaining a reputation as the most improved player in the ACC, led the Cards with a dozen rebounds, and sophomore guard Quentin Snider pitched in 10 assists. 6-foot-10 freshman Ray Spalding had 12 points, eight coming in the first half.
