Louisville, KY., – Heaven Hill Brands has announced a partnership with Louisville Parks and Recreation to create a new outdoor recreation area at the California Community Center in West Louisville. Mayor Greg Fischer, Metro Council President David James, and Metro Parks Assistant Director Ben Johnson joined Heaven Hill Brands Chief Operating Officer Allan Latts to unveil plans including updated landscaping, permanent cornhole boards and chess sets. Sign-ups for LouisvilleKy’s Parks youth baseball, softball leagues underway

  Louisville, KY., – After a successful inaugural season in 2017, Louisville Parks and Recreation will again be operating youth baseball and softball leagues at Wyandotte Park in south Louisville for children ages 6-18. Sign-ups are available online now at this link. Tee ball ($20 entry fee) will be available for children ages 6 and under. Softball and baseball league ($40 entry fee) divisions are as follows: ages 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16 and 17-18. The addition brings a marquee golf destination to Parks and Recreation’s portfolio of courses, including nine municipally run tracks located within the Louisville Metro area. Louisville, KY., – As previously announced, the Louisville Parks and Recreation storage and maintenance barn at Joe Creason Park will be removed beginning the week of January 8. The barn, which dates to November 1918, served as The Motor School Garage building for Camp Zachary Taylor during World War I.  Although altered over time, the barn incorporates a distinctive wooden lattice truss structural system that spans 102 feet.  Originally built as a temporary structure, the wood structural elements have deteriorated over time and have begun to shift and buckle, making the building structurally unsound and unsafe.
