 Louisville, KY. – The Kentucky Derby Festival will hold its annual Republic Bank Pegasus Parade Position Draw on Tuesday, April 16, at SuperChefs at 1702 Bardstown Road in Louisville. The 2019 float and inflatable sponsors will be introduced as they draw for positions in the parade.   The 64th Republic Bank Pegasus Parade on Thursday, May 2, is themed “Pegasus Power,” and will be a spectacle of colorful floats, marching bands, giant inflatables, equestrians and celebrities parading down Broadway in downtown Louisville. Kentucky Derby Festival, Logan Lavelle Hunt and the Kentucky Derby Festival Foundation are partnering with the Louisville Metro Police Foundation, to bring LMPD their newest four-legged recruit. K-9 Thunder will visit the Command Center of his namesake on Friday, April 12.  Already in training, K-9 Thunder will soon be hitting the streets and sniffing out crime. Louisville, KY.  – With the traditional spin of a wheel Brittany Patillo of Louisville, KY, was named the 2019 Kentucky Derby Festival Queen this past weekend at the 61st annual Fillies Derby Ball at the Louisville Marriott Downtown. Brittany, 22-years-old is a Senior at the University of Louisville majoring in Theatre Arts. She is a Benjamin A. Gilman scholarship recipient, a member of the African American Theatre Program, and has been named to the Dean’s List for five consecutive semesters. Louisville, KY – The Kentucky Derby Festival is sharing another sign of spring, as they release the design for the 47th edition of their Pegasus Pin. The 2019 design is inspired by the Festival’s official uniform jacket, just released last spring. The plastic pin is a miniature version of the jacket in fuchsia and Caribbean blue.  Beginning in March, the pins will be available to the public and will sell for $6 each at 1,000 retail locations.
