Louisville, KY., – In what has become the must-see event of the Halloween season, the Jack O’ Lantern Spectacular has returned for its sixth consecutive year to south Louisville’s Iroquois Park, where 5,000 artistically carved pumpkins greet visitors now through November 4. The pumpkins will illuminate a 1/3-mile trail adjacent to the Iroquois Amphitheater, and event officials estimate up to 85,000 people will visit. The trail is open from dusk until 11 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and until midnight on Friday and Saturday nights. Inclusive Playground Opens in Louisville’s California Park

Louisville, Ky., – Mayor Greg Fischer and the Louisville Metro Parks Foundation dedicated a new, inclusive playground today in California Park, located at 16th and St. Catherine. Inclusive playgrounds grant every child the opportunity to enjoy playground features, regardless of physical limitations. This is the fifth inclusive playground in the Metro Parks & Recreation system. Funds for the $270,000 project were raised entirely by the foundation and include proceeds from the Jack O’ Lantern Spectacular (the pumpkin display at Iroquois Park).
