Second Disaster Recovery Center To Open In Louisville

Louisville, Ky., – A second disaster recovery center operated by the commonwealth of Kentucky and the Federal Emergency Management Agency will open at noon Monday, May 18, in Jefferson County. The new Jefferson center will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (EDT) weekdays and Saturday. It is located at 205 W. Wellington Ave. (Beechmont Community Center) in Louisville. The other Louisville center is located at 8501 Preston Highway and has the same hours of operation. Louisville Residents May Be Eligible For Disaster Aid

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Residents of Louisville who suffered damage from the severe storms, flooding, landslides, and mudslides of April 2-17, 2015 may be eligible for federal disaster assistance. Emergency Services Emergency Management Agency (EMA) has been working closely with The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to determine damages throughout the community caused by these storms. EMA is encouraging all members of the community who registered a preliminary damage assessment as well as all area residents possibly affected to apply for assistance.
