By Jackie Hollenkamp Bentley   Louisville, KY., – Multiple news sources are reporting that Rick Pitino has officially been fired from the University of Louisville Men’s Basketball program. Pitino had been on administrative leave since Sept. 27 when the FBI announced an investigation into fraud and corruption in college basketball.  The university’s board of trustees voted this afternoon to formally terminate the Hall of Fame coach’s contract. Asks General Assembly to take action before session ends Louisville, Ky., – Mayor Greg Fischer today urged the General Assembly to strengthen the reporting requirement of suspected child abuse when it involves law enforcement officers or leaders. Current Kentucky law requires anyone who suspects that a child is being abused to report it to police, the state Cabinet for Health and Family Services or the county or commonwealth’s attorney.
