TGIF Local Lunch Post – Downard On Dining in District 16

The summer is waning in the Bluegrass. On the cusp of harvest, it is a time of plenty and what better way to greet the fall season but an enjoyable meal with friends, family, or business. Today, we’re motoring up Hwy. 42 to feature some of the fine dining establishments of District 16. From Barbourmeade to Prospect, Indian Hills to Glenview, with Brownsboro Farm and Spring Valley in between, District 16 is a sweet place, indeed.  Given the history of Locust Grove and the progressive Norton Commons, there is truly something for everyone  – shopping, real estate, boating, and dining….

Valentine’s Day: You Can Run, But You Can’t Hide

Valentine’s Day falls on a Monday this year. They do this every now and then so lonely single people won’t be made to feel bad when they go looking for a meaningless weekend hookup and find themselves surrounded by happy couples in love. Holding Valentine’s Day on a Monday allows the unattached one more year of denying the misery of their largely pointless existence. At the same time, it affords those in committed, long-term relationships to justify saving a few bucks by skipping the celebration entirely in favor of another seemingly endless night at home with the one we continue…
