Louisville Ky Mayor Greg Fischer Invites city to Peace Vigil tonight

Louisville, KY., – Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer, Compassionate Louisville and several other groups are inviting all members of the community to gather tonight in Downtown Louisville to show their solidarity against all forms of terrorism, particularly to the recent violence in Paris and Beirut. The vigil begins at 6 p.m. at the Jefferson Memorial across from City Hall at 6th and Jefferson streets. The event is also sponsored by Pakistani Americans for Compassion and Education, MSA, and local Islamic centers.

Louisville Named 2015 Model City for Compassion

LOUISVILLE (October 19, 2015) – For the fourth year in a row, the Charter for Compassion International has named Louisville as its Model Compassionate City. The Charter for Compassion is a cooperative effort to restore compassionate living to the center of community life. It is based in Seattle, Washington. Rev. No Fear, Fire Up The Thunder

OK. I’m a little bit worried. I keep running into people, coming across social media posts, that indicates to me a lot of people are staying home for Thunder Saturday.  The message I’d like the community to send is that we’re not giving up our riverfront, Waterfront Park or downtown to criminals.
