LouisvilleKY Airport Authority Receives $24.4 Million from Federal Aviation Administration

LOUISVILLE, KY  – The Louisville Regional Airport Authority has received $24.4 million in airport infrastructure grants from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Airport Improvement Program (AIP). The FAA awarded $586 million in airport infrastructure grants, as part of the total $3.18 billion in AIP funding for airports across the United States. Louisville International Airport (SDF) received $23,305,246 in grants and Bowman Field (LOU) received $1,172,498 in grants. Louisville, KY.  – The U.S. Bank Kentucky Derby Festival Great BalloonFest returns this week with five hot-air balloon events over the course of three days. It lifts off tomorrow, Thursday, April 26, and runs through Saturday, April 28. The balloon festivities kick-off on Thursday, April 26, with the U.S. Bank Great Balloon Charity Race. LouisvilleKY’s THE WEEK — New Ranking, New Restaurant and Plenty to Do

Most of us really enjoyed the city’s first week in the Top 5 of college football, cranking up the volume on activities as the calendar signaled that autumn is here. I saw the Showtime series, “A Season With Florida State Football” and loved seeing how Jimbo Fisher and his bunch reacted to losing. It was interesting to see the Seminoles go through a practice at Waterfront Park in the pre game and enter into Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium, where they were as surprise as fans were that the Cards put a 63-20 pounding on them. LouisvilleKY Loves Its Tailspin Ale Fest

On Being a Volunteer Pourer at LouisvilleKY’s Tailspin For Pete’s Sake. . . that was the chocolate-peanut butter beer I was pouring, along with Sweet Baby Jesus, which, was just about as good. I was told the difference was a single percent of alcohol, but no one I spoke to mentioned any difference. I’m no beer connoisseur, and prior to the Tailspin Ale Fest at LouisvilleKY’s Bowman Field on Saturday, I wasn’t “in” on the craft beer scene.
