Louisville, KY., – The long-awaited, newly-renovated Convention Center downtown opens again for business in August. You can hear all about the fantastic facility, and what it means for local tourism, at the July 17 Breakfast of Champions with Karen Williams, President and CEO of the Louisville Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The event is set for July 17, 2018, from 7:30-8:30 a.m. at the University Club, 200 E Brandeis Avenue on the campus of University of Louisville. Tickets are $20 at the door. RSVP’s can be made at this Facebook link.
Williams, a Louisville native, has been a leader in the hospitality industry for over 35 years—a prosperous career that began with a sales manager position at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Atlanta.
Karen’s first career stop at the Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau (LCVB) lasted 23 years, in the role of executive vice president. She retired from her position at the LCVB in August 2012, but remained connected to the industry that she loves so much and founded Inspired, a full-service event design and management consulting firm based in Louisville, Ky. She also reconnected with the LCVB when she was appointed to the Greater Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau Commission, the policy-making body of the LVCB.
In March 2014, Karen was named President & CEO of the LCVB and is responsible for all administrative, operating, sales and marketing functions including 130 full and part-time staff members and an operating budget of $18 million.
