Louisville, KY -The Louisville Independent Business Alliance (LIBA) will host the 10th Annual Buy Local Fair on Sunday, May 20th from 12:00pm – 6:00pm at Louisville Water Tower Park, 3005 River Road. Presented by Louisville Water Company, admission to the Buy Local Fair is free and parking is $5 per vehicle, or free for bicycle parking.
The fair will include more than 200 booths from a variety of local businesses, artists and craftspeople, community organizations, and farmers. Guests can also enjoy food trucks, a children’s area, a craft beer, bourbon and brandy tent sponsored by ValuMarket, a Back Porch area for the grownups sponsored by Cox’s Smokers Outlet and Spirit Shoppes, and live music from Unidentified at 12:10pm, Louisville Folk School at 12:55pm, and Jameron at 2:15pm.
For the first time, the fair will include a “Kidpreneur Marketplace” from 12:00pm-3:00pmshowcasing ten local mini businesses run by kids age 12 and under. Examples of their businesses include homemade baked goods, gourmet lemonade, slime and stress-relief putty and children’s books.
The popular cooking competition, sponsored by The Trend Appliances, will begin at 3:15pm, when Chef Jeff Dailey from Harvest will represent the returning champions to compete against Austin Cummins, salumiere at Commonwealth Cure. The two chefs will face off with a box of mystery ingredients, and the winner will be determined by a panel of four judges based on taste, healthiness, and how easily it could be replicated at home.
The cocktail competition, sponsored by Wilson Muir Bank, will also return, featuring unique cocktails from Copper & Kings, Heaven Hill Brands, and Horseshoe Bend Vineyard and Winery. Attendees can purchase a flight for $5 and vote for their favorite cocktail.
