COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF LOUISVILLE TO HOST RALLY FOR PARTICIPATING NONPROFITS
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Sept. 12, 2017 – The Community Foundation of Louisville will host Give For Good Louisville, the 24-hour day of local giving, on Sept. 14. Donations will be accepted online from midnight to 11:59 p.m. for more than 500 local participating nonprofits through www.giveforfgoodlouisville.org . The Give For Good Louisville Midday
Nonprofit Rally will be at 4th Street Live from 11:30 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. to celebrate the biggest day of local giving. All are welcome to attend the rally which will feature live entertainment, remarks from Mayor Greg Fischer, food trucks and more than 200 participating nonprofits.
“We are thrilled with the level of community support for Give For Good Louisville” said Cara Baribeau, the Community Foundation’s vice president of marketing and communications and Give For Good Louisville project lead, “This day keeps growing because our community gets behind the notion that if each of us gives a little, together we can make a major impact on our local nonprofits. This day shows Louisville at its compassionate best.”
This year the rally will feature performances from Cirque Louis, Simmons College Marching Band, Kentucky Shakespeare, Louisville Youth Choir, AMPED and Lanita Rocknettes. Additionally, there will be live leaderboard updates, Golden Ticket prize announcements and interviews with participating nonprofits.
Beyond the Midday Nonprofit Rally, there are over 20 other events around town to celebrate Give For Good Louisville. There are kick off events by Twisted Pink with Barre by the Big Four Bridge on Sept 13 at 6:30 p.m. and Yoga in the Garden on Sept. 14 at 8 a.m. in front of the Center for Interfaith Relations’ offices. At 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. A Place to Sleep
will be hosting a free lunch of hot dogs, chips, tea and dessert. At 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Global Game Changers will be holding an ice cream social. At 3:30 p.m. there will be a social hour at West Sixth Brewing and HopCat in support of Mama to Mama. From 5:00 p.m. – 7 p.m., Smoketown Family Wellness Center is hosting a neighborhood dinner, games, face
painting and live performances. Drepung Gomang Center for Engaging Compassion is hosting a late evening compassion celebration from 9 p.m. – midnight. A full schedule of events can be found here .
