It’s Conference Tournament Week for Louisville, UK and WKU

Whatever work you need to get done this week, do it on Monday and Tuesday. Starting Wednesday the region becomes mired in Basketball, and Spring, Fever. It’s Christmas all over again for sports bars, and March Madness affects even casual fans, as they try to memorize starting lineups for local teams and figure out where Alcorn State is.

So here’s where our teams are playing:

acctourneyWestern Kentucky’s first game in the Conference USA Tourney is Wednesday at Birmingham. WKU is the 5th-seed in the 12-team league. The Toppers get Marshall, then would face 4th-seed Alabama-Birmingham Thursday at 6. If WKU keeps winning, it will play in the semifinals at 5:30 Friday and the Championship at 2:30 Saturday.

Louisville is the #4 seed in the ACC Tournament in Greensboro, and will likely meet North Carolina Thursday at 2, unless Boston College or Georgia Tech upsets the Heels. Winning the Thursday game would set up the Cards to play Friday at 7, likely against top-seed Virginia. The championship game is Saturday night at 8:30.

Kentucky, the top seed in the SEC Tournament in Nashville, gets the Alabama-Florida winner at Noon Friday. The Saturday game will be at Noon, likely against 4th-seed LSU. The SEC title game is at Noon Sunday.

Then, on Sunday, you can start filling our your NCAA Tournament brackets.
