LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Falls City Hospitality Group (FCHG) is proud to announce the name of their newest Louisville restaurant, JQ Public House. Expected to open in late spring 2016, the mid-century modern beer garden will feature wholesome, comfort food rooted in Americana. Executive chef Jonathan Schwartz will offer an extensive number of dishes that appeal to every generation including several variations of fried chicken, baked-to-order meatloaf and a variety of seafood options like a fish boil, raw oysters and steamed clams that pair perfectly with the view of the Ohio River. An entire wall of windows will make up a portion of the restaurant located at the new RiverPark place apartments, 1500 River Shore Dr. Whether sitting at the bar sipping on one of the 120 beers on tap or gathering the family for lunch or dinner, each diner will have a view of the water.
“We’ve worked for years perfecting the design and menu of JQ Public House,” said FCHG managing partner Brett Davis. “The development at RiverPark Place will be the go-to spot for professionals looking to escape the daily grind and we can’t wait to offer them a place to sit down, relax and enjoy the classic and refined flavors of their childhood.”
In addition to constructing the new restaurant, FCHG will also restore the nearby historic Padgett House as a rental space for weddings or other private events. The project is the third in Louisville for FCHG. They own Doc Crow’s Southern Smokehouse and Raw Bar on Whiskey Row known for the largest selection of whiskey and bourbon in the city. A short distance from JQ Public House, work is underway renovating the former Tumbleweed location into Doc’s Cantina. The 8,000 square foot restaurant serving Mexican comfort food at the foot of the Big Four Bridge is scheduled to open by the end of 2015. The group also owns the social steakhouse Union Common in Nashville.
The veteran restaurant development team at Falls City Hospitality Group (FCHG) is comprised of restaurateurs Steven and Michael Ton, master sommelier Brett Davis and attorney Chip Hamm. Doc Crow’s opened in 2011 and was one of the key players in revitalizing Louisville’s historic Whiskey Row. The menu showcases traditional Southern fare, barbecue and bourbon. Opened in 2014, Union Common is a social concept steakhouse featuring shareable plates with an extensive wine and whiskey selection in the Midtown neighborhood of Nashville. In addition to constructing Doc’s Cantina, the group is also currently building the American comfort food restaurant at JQ Public House at RiverPark Place.
