Louisville restaurant offers prices based on the stock market losses.

My Soapbox on Bottled Water

When I was reporting at Business First back in the ’90s, I wrote a column saying that the marketing of bottled water was the biggest scam ever foisted on the American public. My reasoning was that these marketers from big corporations like Coca-Cola and Pepsico had somehow been able to convince regular folks to purchase something in a bottle they could get for free out of the tap. What a cool idea! Evening bike ride to benefit a good cause

In these dog days of summer Prevent Blindness has come up with a very cool idea. It’s America’s first Night Rider. A light, evening bike ride followed by music from Gene Brock & The Hasselhoffs and The Hard Luck.  The event starts at Saints Pizza and Pub, 131 Breckenridge Lane, in the heart of St. Matthews. One of the best things about living in Louisville is the attitude toward “southern sippin’ drinks”. The Last Out at Browning’s

Tonight, the crew at Browning’s is having its last hurrah. We’re gonna miss Paula Barmore and Anoosh Shariat, the proprietors of the ballpark restaurant, and being able to stop in for a cold one before Bats games. And for the last two years, it’s been a great spot for lunch downtown, thanks to Shariat’s creations in the kitchen and easy and convenient parking.
