Moms are Free for Mother’s Day at LouisvilleKY’s Zoo

Louisville, KY., – The Louisville Zoo will be honoring mothers this Mother’s Day, Sunday May, 12 with free admission. The day is made possible by Ford Motor Company. Teddy Grahams will have giveaways while supplies last. A Teddy Grahams Scavenger Hunt will also be handed out at the admission gate. Teddy Grahams will be located near the maned wolf exhibit. Louisville, KY  -The Louisville Independent Business Alliance (LIBA) will host the 11th Annual Buy Local Fair on Sunday, May 19th from 12:00pm – 6:00pm at Louisville Water Tower Park, 3005 River Road. The Belle of Louisville, and her rival from up river, the Belle of Cincinnati, will compete in this year’s Kentucky Derby Festival Great Steamboat Race Presented by IBEW Local 369, set for 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1.  The 14-mile course on the Ohio River starts and finishes at the Clark Memorial Bridge. Louisville, KY. –  Racing fans cheered tonight as GE Appliances (Team 1) won the Champions Division of the Great Bed Races with a time of 34.1. St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities won the won the Fun Division with a time of 35.6.  40 teams pushed their decorated beds on wheels around the figure-eight course, competing for the fastest times.  Louisville, KY.  – With near perfect weather conditions, 25 balloons lifted off from Bowman Field Saturday morning in the BB&T Great Balloon Race. The race got underway just after 7 AM, as light wind took the balloons east toward Shelbyville Road.
