Derby Festival adds third distance to Louisville Ky cycling event

  SPOTS FOR PNC TOUR DE LOU FILLING UP FAST March 8, 2016. Louisville, KY. – Cycling enthusiasts will be able to cover more distance in this year’s PNC Tour de Lou – the Kentucky Derby Festival’s annual cycling event. The Festival is adding a third distance to the event – a Metric Century ride – which is 100 kilometers or 62.1 miles. The open course cycling event is set for Sunday, May 1, and also includes a 20-mile ride for beginners and 35-mile ride for intermediate cyclists. Louisville, Ky., – Third time was a charm for 10-year-old Tara Singh of Louisville as she won the 23rd annual Ford Motor Company Kentucky Derby Festival Spelling Bee today. Singh, who was competing for the third year in a row, correctly spelled “Eponym” – (of a person) giving their name to something. The competition was held in the Bomhard Theatre at the Kentucky Center for the Arts (501 W. Main Street in Louisville).
