With so many professional tournaments and other events taking place, there’s always a lot to look forward to when it comes to keeping up to date with the world of golf. You never have to wait too long for the right event to attend, but that might mean that you have a lot of work to do when keeping track of the events taking place. Don’t miss your favorite matches if you can help it. Read on to see five tournaments, this year and next, that you don’t want to miss.
The Tour Championship
You may think you’re too late to book yourself a ticket for this one, since it finishes on the 24th of September, but if you’ve got a clear schedule then that leaves plenty of time. Just search online on ticket sales for the right tickets for you before it really is too late. This year it’s held in Atlanta, so this could also make the perfect end of summer road trip. This is a tournament between the thirty players wither the most FedEx Cup points on the PGA Tour, so tensions are going to be running high.
The Presidents Cup takes place on non-Ryder Cup years, and it takes place twice in these years and has been running since 1994. There will be twelve players from the American team and twelve players from the international squad and, being played in Jersey City at the Liberty National Golf Club, this will be a scenic match, played within view of the Manhattan canopy.
World Golf Championship Dell Match Play
This is a big one. The World Gold Championship Dell Match Play is one of only four worldwide golf championships, and it’s also a knockout – so it’s easy enough to follow for family, friends or golf novices who are interested in learning more. Since 2016, the World Golf Championship Dell Match Play has been held in Austin, and it’s focused around the sixty-four highest ranked in the Official World Golf Ranking, so it’s a great place to see some of your golf heroes.
Masters Golf Tournament
This is another major event, and you have until next year to finalize your plans for getting there. It will be held in Augusta in April at the Augusta National Golf Club, and you might want to get a head start if you’re set on attending this one. The Masters Golf Tournament gets some of the world’s top players, and it invites them according to some strict qualifying criteria, though The Masters Committee can invite players at its own discretion even if the criteria aren’t met.
The US Open
This widely anticipated event is going to be in New York, and it’s worth getting your tickets in advance, just to be sure. It will take place in June next year, so you have plenty of time to prepare. It’s also worth noting that USGA members get priority when it comes to tickets, and tickets for other tournaments too, so make sure you don’t miss out.
